By the end of the Hajj season, Muslims all around the world celebrate Eid al Adha by sacrificing an animal (usually a goat or a sheep) in commemoration of the Prophet Abraham’s story with his son Ismail.
It’s also a day of sharing, as people are supposed to give away some of the sacrificed animal meat to the poor.
And as a celebration of Eid al Adha, I made these yummy sheep cookies using a handmade cookie cutter to promote Bizer Bateekh. Some are chocolate flavored and some are classic butter cookies.
Here’s the cookie cutter template, the tags and the recipes. (right click to save link as)
Big thanks goes to Yasmeen, my favorite friend, for helping me out with the icing, for my brother Ali for helping me in wrapping 80 sheeps, for my cousin Omar for his inspiration (haha he knows why!), and for my brother Hani and my cousin Ali – the quality control department – for tasting the cookies and the icing.
Eid Mubarak to everyone!
May it be a happy and blessed Eid for you all.
Enjoy Mamoul, chocolates and your family visits!
